5th In­ter­na­tio­nal Ballet Gala

The Staatstheater Nürnberg and the funding body “Ballettfreunde Staatstheater Nürnberg e.V.” are holding the fifth International Ballet Gala at the opera house. When the first gala was held in 2012, it was a bold undertaking by the funding body’s members, but over the years it has turned into an outstanding event with a reputation that extends well beyond the region.

The gala has grown into an important event where world-renowned dancers and the ballet of the Staatstheater Nürnberg performs works by internationally top-level choreographers. It is a dance performance of the highest order that promotes cultural exchange and constantly raises the bar.

This year’s edition of the gala is set to make a real splash with its line-up: Richard Siegal has succeeded in bringing Polina Semionova, Martin ten Kortenaar and Ksenia Ovsyanick – absolute world stars of the international dance scene – to Nuremberg. The renowned flamenco performer Rafaela Carrasco will also add a special touch to the programme.
