For audience members of all ages, regardless of whether they have a lot or little theatre experience. It is not a consecutive series, individual dates can also be attended.
World premiere
The last drop of crude oil has been used up. A geologist part-time bodybuilder has been assigned the task of finding the next big energy source for the future. While researching a mysterious pit, the geologist dares to plumb its depths from one layer to the next until she finally meets a depressed oracle at Earth's core, who lists a series of grim prophecies. This is a meeting that will change everything.
Poetic science fiction, impressive linguistic force. Sarah Calörtscher's gripping new type of digital storytelling earned her one of the most renowned german prizes in the dramatic arts. Her third work, "Drill Baby Drill", was commissioned by Staatstheater Nürnberg and is a reflection on that which we leave behind and what new, unknown future scenarios await us.

„(...) in den Einspielungen der 'Schichten' und in Peters’ Dialog mit Claudia Gyasi Nimako als Orakel offenbaren sich clevere Wortspiele und Biss. Dabei entstehen Perlen wie 'Ablenkung ist die schönste Form von Lenkung', als es darum geht, wie leicht sich Menschen von der unerbittlich näher rückenden Klimakrise ablenken lassen (wollen). In Darkows Monolog zur Missachtung 'guter Lösungen' ebenjener Krise mittels Geoengineering – Weltraumspiegel und weiß gestrichene Berge zur Reflexion der Sonnenstrahlen – mischt sie gekonnt leeres Politgehabe mit Kommentarspalten-Kriegern. (...) Regisseurin Ariane Kareev macht Peters, Darkow und Nimako zu jener Art liebenswürdigem Trio, das man am Ende nicht gerne verlieren sieht.“
