We Are Still Here — Open Call
The Staatstheater Nürnberg invites three groups to come together for a five-day residency built around a single, shared theme: We Are Still Here.
In difficult times, the most powerful thing we can do is to show up for each other, in public, without holding back. This residency is an invitation to do exactly that. Over five days, three groups will work independently and alongside one another, developing a short performative, musical, theatrical, experimental presentation that responds to the question: what does it mean to still be here, together, now?
Each group will have their own dedicated rehearsal room at the Staatstheater Nürnberg for four hours per day across all five days. We provide a protected space to create, experiment, and find your piece. The residency concludes with an Open-Air presentation, open to everyone, where each group performs their work for 20 to 30 minutes.
To support your work, each selected group will receive a fee of 5,000€.
We are looking for theater groups, choirs, music ensembles, performance collectives, amateur, semi-professional, or community based. We welcome groups of all ages and backgrounds. What matters is not polish, but presence.

To apply, send us an Email at schauspiel(a)staatstheater-nuernberg.de with Yalla Residence as a subject. The mail shall include a short introduction to your group (who you are, what you do) and a short concept on how the theme We Are Still Here speaks to you artistically. That's it.
