We set great store on ensuring maximum accessibility for people with restricted mobility.
Lifts
An external lift on the left flank of the Opernhaus brings people to the stalls and the dress circle. The barrier-free entrance to the building and a lift between the Kammerspiele and 3. Etage performance space on the 3rd floor mean that all three venues are accessible to disabled people. All viewing locations for wheelchair-bound visitors are on the ground floor.
Wheelchair spaces
The Opernhaus has four spaces for wheelchair users in the stalls. All three performance areas in the Schauspielhaus feature wheelchair space with appropriate signage. The main auditorium in the Meistersingerhalle can admit 12 wheelchair users. For precise information on the locations, please consult auditorium diagrams, ask at the box offices or phone +49-(0)180/1-344-276 (from Germany, landline 3.9 ¢/min.; mobile max. 42 ¢/min.). Please remember to order a wheelchair space when purchasing your ticket.
Barrier-free toilets
All venues feature barrier-free toilets. The Opernahaus has a dedicated toilet beside the cloakroom on the left side of the stalls. In the Meistersingerhalle the relevant toilets are outside the two halls. In the Schauspielhaus they are situated in the basement adjacent to the Kammerspiele, reachable by lift.
Induction loops
The Opernhaus, the Schauspielhaus and the Kammerspiele feature induction-loop technology. As audio quality fluctuates slightly depending on location, you are asked to mention your use of a hearing aid at the time of ticket purchase, so that we can advise you personally on how to get the best audio experience. There is no induction-loop facility on the 3rd floor.
Opernhaus
In the following diagram the seats with limited or no induction-loop facilities are marked grey. Only the coloured seats offer ideal auditory conditions.
